Most of you know about the tragic loss of Katie Hewson at the age of 27 in 2007. Since then her friends and family have helped keep her spirit alive through annual fundraisers held in November at the Crowne Plaza in Worcester, and in recent years at Wong Dynasty in Holden.

This month that same group has started a five-mile run/walk from Wachusett Brewery to Wachusett Mountain that takes place in two weeks on Saturday, August 16. All proceeds from the event go to benefit the Katie Hewson Memorial Fund which provides scholarships to Wachusett graduates who exemplify the spirit Katie showed during her life.

Here are additional details of the Wachusett to Wachusett Run. Participants park at the Wachusett Mountain parking lot. A shuttle will take participants from the parking lot to the start of the race with walkers starting at 9:30 AM and runners at 10 AM.

Following the run Wachusett Mountain will be host to a music festival where Wachusett Brewery beer (our favorite beer) will be served.
