Jooooones Steps Up His Game

Jooones has been seen around town collecting cans to cover the costs for our next reunion.

Since Chris “Trem Daddy” Tremblay shocked the world by winning The Reunion King Title at our Lucky 21, Dave “Jooooones” Laidlaw has dedicated his life and blood to our class. “It’s all I have,” he said with tears in his eyes. “Class of ’94 made me. And now I have to return the favor.”

While Trem Daddy has been seen criss-crossing the globe in private jets with Rettig and Pirani, Jooones has returned to his roots.

He laid out his daily regimen in detail during an exclusive interview with www.BestClassEver.net. In the morning, Joooones gets up early and drives to the WRHS parking lot in his mint green ’87 Chevy Camaro IROC to watch the sun rise. “I’m usually blasting Ace of Base or C+C Music Factory,” Jooones said. “That music gets me in the zone. Once the sun is up, I spin some circles and burn rubber in the parking lot before I do some real damage.”

Joooones then dedicates the next 12 to 14 hours of the day to scouring the Wachusett district for redeemable cans and bottles. His goal is simple. “I want to collect enough so all my classmates can get into the next reunion for free,” he said, his voice trembling with emotion. “If not now, when? If not me, who? The time is always right to do what is right.”

Collecting the Goods

Since our last reunion in November 2015, Joooones has collected $22.80 in recyclables. “What has Trem Daddy done? Nothing,” Jooones said. “Meanwhile, I’m giving back. I’m making sure no one has to pay to get into our next reunion.”

Class Officers refused to comment on Joooones’ good deeds, though off the record they hinted this could vault him back into the running for The Reunion King crown which narrowly escaped his grasp three years ago. “Right now, he’s definitely ahead of Carbs,” class mathematician Tricia (Hogan) Burdo said.

As to whether Joooones can collect enough recyclables to achieve his goal is unclear. Conservatively, Burdo estimated that Joooones would have to turn in 50,000 cans and bottles to cover the entrance fee for 100 classmates at $25 per person. “Frankly, he hasn’t collected enough for one person,” Burdo laughed.

Joooones refused to let the naysayers stop him. “Look, here’s another one,” he said, as he picked through the dumpster at Goodhile’s in Holden, proudly holding up an empty of Mike’s Hard Frozen Mango Lemonade. “Each one of these that I find, the less my classmates have to pay. I’m not doing this for myself or for the glory, although both of those are awesome. I’m doing this for Chico, Dr. Pandiscio, Coyle, and all the legends that have gone before me. I’m doing this to thank them for paving the path to greatness, and for making our class the best ever.”

First Lucky 21 Sign Up

Melissa Strickland has proved herself worth of Class of 94.

Melissa Strickland has proved herself worthy of being called a member of The Best Class Ever!

In a little more than a month, The Best Class Ever will convene to make history as part of the first-ever Lucky 21-Forever 21-21 Jump Street Reunion. No one thought it was possible, but once again we are proving the naysayers wrong.

Leading the charge is Melissa Strickland who was the first to send in her payment for this exclusive V.I.P. party. This is a far cry from high school when many questioned Stricky’s allegiances. Our sophomore year, she was seen gallivanting with St. Peter Marian (yuck!) students, eating cotton candy with them at the Greendale Mall. Our junior year, Stricky once shared a locker with Class o’ 95’s Jacky Melone (get real).

But Stricky has shown her maturity since then, attending all three of our previous historic reunions and dedicating her life to everything Wachusett. In the midst of preparing for our Lucky 21, Stricky answered some questions about how she has changed for the better since high school.

Nickname: Stricky Stricky Bang Bang

Favorite Thing: Class of ’94, hands down.

Idea of a Romantic Date: Anywhere with a Wachusett in its name. Obviously, Wachusett High School tops the list, but not far behind is Wachusett Mountain. Wachusett Brewery because without us they would be nothing. They also have a Wachusett packy in West Boylston and that would be a nice, romantic night out, just going there and thinking about Wachusett and getting a class discount on anything I purchase there.

Something We Don’t Know About You: I bleed green. All the time.

Something Else We Don’t Know About You: I have a tattoo of the Wachusett mountaineer on my back. I have “94” tattooed on my shoulder. I have “Pandiscio Rules!” on my left bicep. I  have “WRHS: Let’s Go Greeeeenie!” on my right bicep. And I have the five town seals – Holden, Princeton, Paxton, Rutland and Sterling – tattooed on my lower back.

What’s One of Your Favorite Memories from High School: Just how all the other classes were always gunning for us. We were ahead of our time with everything we did. Our combined G.P.A. was off the charts. We had more snow days than any other class our senior year. How can you top that? You can’t. That’s why everyone tried to destroy  us with rumor and innuendo, but it never worked. Deflate this, Class of 92!

If You Had One Wish: I’d wish for a time machine so I could go back to 1994.

NEW NAME FOR BEST CLASS EVER!!!

Over the past decade Dan Nordberg has dedicated himself to giving a new name to The Best Class Ever.

Late Friday night Nordy received word from the Library of Congress, the U.S. Patent Office and the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that his hard work has paid off.

The Class of 1994 will now permanently be known as 19-NORDY-FOUR.

Coinciding with this name change the class slogan will be changed from “Let’s Go Greenie!!” to “Nordy By Nature Not Cuz I Hate Ya!”

This solidifies Nordy’s position in the pantheon of Wachusett greats, vaulting him ahead of stalwarts such as Dave Fudeman, Tim Ethier, Scott Stidsen, Larry Rettig, Tim Crockett, Ryan Sweeney, Matt Buma and Megan Hehir.

In a press release Nordberg said he did not do this for himself, but for the betterment of the world and more importantly our class. “Clearly it is more fun and easier to say ’19-Nordy-Four’ than ‘1994’, especially for foreigners who visit America,” Nordberg said.

Nordberg also noted that these changes give our class much needed respect. “We will no longer be looked at as paper champions,” he said.
